Belardo’s first-crop daughter Elysium won her second Stakes race on Sunday, 17 October when taking the Listed Garnet Stakes at Naas. Slowly away from the stalls in the one mile contest, she made stealthy headway in the straight before recording a half-a-length victory.
Lightly raced in her three-year-old season, Elysium finished 2020 with a victory in the G3 Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh.
Bred by Tullpark Ltd, Elysium is out of the Stakes-performing juvenile Sonning Rose, who was placed at Royal Ascot in the Chesham Stakes.
Champion juvenile Belardo has sired nine Stakes performers including Group winners Isabella Giles and Lullaby Moon. He was also crowned Champion first-season sire in New Zealand in 2020/21.
The final race on the card fell to Night Of Thunder’s four-year-old daughter Thunder Kiss. Recording her second Stakes triumph of 2021 after the G3 Munster Oaks in June, she swept from the back to record a neck victory.
Owned and bred by Newtown Anner Stud, Thunder Kiss is one of 11 Stakes winners sired by Night Of Thunder in 2021.
