First-season sire Profitable took his winners tally to 16 on Thursday, 12 August with a double on both sides of the English channel.
First to strike was the Whatton Manor Stud-bred filly Incredit, who was winning on her third career start. Keen early in the 1300m contest run at Deauville, she was produced in the straight to win going away by two lengths.
Just over an hour later at Chelmsford, Profitable completed his double when his son Home City gained a well-deserved victory. Making his fifth start, the Godolphin-homebred had been first past the post on his previous start at Newbury, only to be demoted to second in the steward's room.
Profitable now sits second in the European first-season sires table with 16 winners, second only to Cotai Glory and ahead of Ardad, Caravaggio, Aclaim, Churchill and Galileo Gold.
