Verba Volant became the latest winner for her first crop sire Ribchester on Sunday, 1 August when taking a conditions event at Tagliacozzo. Placed on all her previous starts, the two-year-old filly just pipped Tago Island, a son of another Kildangan resident in Profitable.
Bred by Northern Bloodstock Agency, Verba Volant is the third foal out a Clodovil half-sister to the Stakes-winning Tarakala, herself the granddam of three-time G1 winner Tarnawa. This is the family of G1 winner Tiraaz and G2 Flying Childers victor Requinto.
Champion miler Ribchester is now the sire of 6 individual first crop winners including dual winner Flaming Rib and the highly rated Gisburn and Ruthin. Based at Kildangan, Ribchester has now shuttled to Hanuai Farm for the southern hemisphere season where he replaces his own successful sire Iffraaj.
