Trusted Ally, a first-crop son of Territories, broke his maiden at Gowran Park on Saturday, 19 September for owner and trainer Michael O’Callaghan. Chasing the leaders, the two-year-old colt found himself tight for room a furlong out and switched left by jockey Leigh Roche, got up to snatch a first victory in the dying strides.
Bred by Alvediston Stud, Trusted Ally is a half-brother to French winner Nargis Queen out of an own-sister to European Champion Mastery (Sulamani). They are half-siblings to the Champion two-year-old Kirklees and also to Magic Tree, dam of G1 Eclipse hero and sire Mukhadram.
G1-placed as a two-year-old himself, Territories went on to win the G1 Jean Prat at three, following second-place finish in the 2,000 Guineas behind Gleneagles. He is the sire of 12 winners and five Black Type runners from his first crop led by G3 Round Tower Stakes second Teresa Mendoza.
