Second Stakes win for son of Territories

Grey’s Monument digs deep to land the Listed Guisborough Stakes

Grey’s Monument, a four-year-old son of Territories, added another victory to his record when landing the Listed Guisborough Stakes at Redcar. Coming into the race on the back of an impressive handicap win at Ascot, he battled gamely in the seven furlong contest to record a half-length victory.

Bred by W A Tinkler, Grey’s Monument is out of the Teofilo mare Matron Of Honour, a half-sister to G1-winning juvenile Casamento.

Territories has been enjoying an excellent season with his headline act the unbeaten G1-winning three-year-old Lazzat, winner of all six races including the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville. Yesterday, his juvenile daughter Iowa City ran second in the G3 Prix Thomas Bryon, doubling his tally of Group juveniles after the G2 Richmond third Intrusively.
