The tireless veteran Happy Clapper added to his standing as his sire Teofilo’s greatest money-winner when he took out Saturday’s G3 Craven Plate at Randwick.
One of Australia’s most popular racehorses, the nine-year-old Happy Clapper took his racetrack earning to A$7.24 million.
His Craven Plate win over Tally (Street Cry) and Life Less Ordinary was his 12th in a 44-start career which has also yielded four G1 successes.
The gelding is also one of Teofilo’s 85 Stakes winners.
Happy Clapper is out of the Encosta De Lago mare Busking whose six winners from seven foals to race include the G2 winner Not A Single Cent.
Teofilo, whose recent southern hemisphere Stakes winners include last year’s British-trained G1 Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter, will stand the next northern hemisphere season at Kildangan Stud in Ireland.
