As the new year begins, and thoughts turn to plans for the forthcoming breeding season, breeders have the opportunity to view the UK and Irish-based Darley stallions this week.
Dalham Hall Stud will open its doors on Wednesday, 9 and Thursday, 10 January, with the stallions on show (by appointment) from 11.30am to 3pm each day.
They include returning shuttlers Brazen Beau, Iffraaj and Territories.
Brazen Beau has already made a superb start with his first Australian runners, siring the hugely exciting Tassort, currently favourite for the G1 Golden Slipper. He is also sire of Listed winner Accession and fellow Black Type performer First Dawn.
Territories (pictured), whose first European crop averaged nearly three times their conception fee at last year’s sales has also made a great impression in the southern hemisphere, with very positive reports from breeders on his first Australian foals.
Iffraaj has recently returned from his latest stint in New Zealand. He is a stallion who consistently produces at the top level and there is no other stallion standing for less than £100,000 that has sired as many G1-winning juveniles since he retired to stud. Iffraaj produced an admirable 23 juvenile winners in 2018 and with consistently large and strong books of mares covered in the last five years, his future continues to look very bright.
Also available to view are new recruits Cracksman, Harry Angel and fellow multiple G1 winner Hawkbill.
The lineup is completed by Charming Thought, Dubawi, Farhh, Golden Horn, New Approach, Night Of Thunder, Outstrip and Postponed.

On Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 January, the focus moves to Kildangan Stud in County Kildare, where once again the Darley stallions will be on show as part of the ITM Irish Stallion Trail.
14 Irish-based stallions will be available to view from 11am to 3pm each day and no appointment is necessary.
Iffraaj’s fastest son, and new to the roster for 2019, is Jungle Cat, winner of two G1 sprint contests last year. Also on show will be another smart sprinter in Slade Power, who made a very promising start with his first runners last year.
Also available to view will be Belardo, Buratino, Dawn Approach, Exceed And Excel, Fast Company, French Navy, Fulbright, Profitable, Raven’s Pass, Ribchester, Teofilo and The Last Lion.
