First-season sire Slade Power recorded his second winner in three days on Tuesday, 16 October when his daughter Sesame broke her maiden in fine style at Leicester.
Held up off the early pace under jockey Alistair Rawlison, Sesame took up the running two furlongs from home and despite edging right close to home, kept on well to win by two and a quarter lengths.
Sesame was bred by Kildaragh Stud and is out of the winning Royal Applause mare Tiger Spice, herself a half sister to two Black Type performers in Take It To The Max and Wake Up Call, who is the dam of Listed winner and G2 Vintage Stakes second Zaman.
On Sunday, Slade Power was responsible for impressive debutant winner Chairmanoftheboard, who holds an entry in next year’s G1 Irish 2,000 Guineas and was declared by his trainer after the race as the best he has trained since G1 winner Zafeen.
