Eziyra, a four-year-old daughter of Teofilo, returned in style to the racecourse on Thursday, 9 August when coming from last to first in the G3 Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown. A G3-winner as a juvenile, she had a successful Classic season with a brace of Group victories in the Give Thanks Stakes and Enterprise Stakes and a third in the Irish Oaks. A very consistent filly, she has now five of her nine starts and has never finished outside the first three.
An Aga Khan homebred, Eziyra is a daughter of the Stakes-placed Dubai Destination mare Eytarna, a half-sister to four G1 winners in the Gold Cup winning pair Estimate and Enzeli, Classic heroine Ebadiyla and Moyglare Stakes Stakes winner Edabiya.
It has been an exceptional seven days for Teofilo after he sired Goodwood record-breaking G3-winner Cross Counter on Saturday as well as the first two home in the Listed Chalice Stakes (Crimson Rosette and Alwaysandforever) on the same day at Newmarket.
