Slade Power looks to have another promising performer from his first crop, following the authoritative victory of his daughter Princess Power over five furlongs at Beverley on Tuesday, 17 July.
Tracking the early leaders under Andew Mullen, Princess Power loomed up with two furlongs left to run and taking command a furlong out, kept to her task superbly to win by a length and a half.
Princess Power was bred by Roundhill Stud and becomes the first winner out of Flurry of Hands (Acclamation), herself a winner at two. She is a half-sister to Group winner and G1 Prix Saint-Alary second Epic Love.
Slade Power was one of the best sprinters of recent times, winning the G1 Diamond Jubilee before landing the G1 Darley July Cup in superb style. He was was assessed as the best horse from the Machiavellian sire line since the great, late Street Cry.
He is also sire of promising filly Strings Of Life, who won at the Craven meeting before finishing second in the Listed Empress Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket’s July course.
