Twelve months after Poeta Diletto won the Italian 2,000 Guineas, Poet’s Voice sired a new Classic winner on Monday 1 May when his three-year-old daughter Mi Raccomando landed the fillies equivalent, the G3 Premio Regina Elena, with Stamp Collecting (Casamento) back in third. A tough and progressive juvenile, this was her second Stakes victory after a win in the Listed Premio Coolmore last September.
Bred by Azienda Agricola Razza del Sole SRL, Mi Raccomando is very closely related to Poet’s Voice’s other Italian Classic winner Poeta Diletto, being a half-sister to his dam, the Stakes-winning Mia Diletta. Their dam Maschera d’Oro (Mtoto) was a five-time winner in Italy.
Mi Raccomando is one of 31 winners from the second-crop of Poet’s Voice that also includes the G3-winning juvenile Poet’s Vanity, who heads to the 1,000 Guineas after an excellent third in the G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes on her three-year-old return. He is standing this season at a fee of £8,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
