Iffraaj’s three-year-old son Wyndspelle added a first Stakes win to his record in fine style on 4 February, landing the G2 Waikato Guineas over ten furlongs at Te Rapa.
The D & C Logan and Gibbs-trained colt came from back in the field and rallied from the inside proving too strong for his rivals, taking first place ahead of Shocking Luck.
Bred by S D Hart, Wyndspelle is out of winning High Chaparral mare Western Star, a half-sister to Stakes winners Lady Alberton and Alberton Park.The colt was bought for $75,000 at the 2015 NZB Premier Yearling Sale from the Hallmark Stud Draft.
Wyndspelle becomes the 20th Group winner for his sire, joining G1 winners Ribchester, Rizeena, Chriselliam, and Wootton Bassett.
Iffraaj stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £27,500, October 1st SLF.
