Iffraaj’s seasoned campaigner Forjatt kicked off his 2017 campaign in fine style when landing the G3 Jebel Ali Mile.
Settled at the rear of the field under jockey Chris Hayes, Forjatt made his move two and a half furlongs from home and quickened impressively to take the lead a furlong out and ran on well to win by a length and a quarter.
Racing for an incredible eighth season, Forjatt has now won on 11 occasions and has been placed no fewer than 16 times. He won the Jebel Ali Mile for the first time in 2014 and took the Listed National Day Cup at Abu Dhabi the following year.
Forjatt was bred in Ireland by Michael Downey and Roalso Limited and is out of the multiple winner Graceful Air (Danzero). She is from the family of Mill Reef Stakes winner and G1 Darley July Cup third Indian Rocket.
Iffraaj enjoyed a superb year in 2016, thanks in no small part to his star miler Ribchester, who won the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois. Iffraaj had no fewer than ten European runners rated 110 or higher last year.
He stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket at a fee of £27,500 October 1st SLF.
