Hot of the heels of the impressive performance of Darley Stallions in Book 1, the opening day of Book 2 saw fireworks for both Shamardal and Iffraaj who topped the session.
The highest price of the day went to Shamardal when Shadwell went to 250,000 gns for lot 571. Consigned by Mountain View Stud, he is a close relative to Shamardal’s G3-winning juvenile Dubai Prince and from the family of Champion Stakes hero Storming Home.
Second-highest lot of the session went to Iffraaj (lot 696, pictured) when his son consigned by Kilminfoyle House Stud went for 210,000 gns. Bought by Roger Varian he is a full-brother to G2 juvenile Musharakaat.
Helmet, whose first juveniles are having a tremendous time this season, enjoyed a notable sale when his son of Generously Gifted (lot 691) was knocked down to Shadwell for 130,000 gns.
The sale continues today.
