Dubawi has been enjoying an excellent time with his juvenile fillies and on Sunday 9 October he sired his third Stakes winner of the week with his two-year-old crop. The winner on this occasion was Godolphin’s Calare who won the Listed Staffordstown Stud Stakes despite meeting trouble in running. A debutant winner at Doncaster she has since finished a close second in a pair of Stakes races at Sandown and Deauville.
A granddaughter of the Champion Diminuendo, her dam, the Stakes-winning Storm Cat mare Calando, has already produced seven winners including the Chesham Stakes hero Champlain. Calando also has a yearling filly by Iffraaj, a filly foal by Dawn Approach and is in foal this season to Night Of Thunder.
Dubawi’s third juvenile Stakes winner of the week follows Wuheida’s thrilling victory in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac and Coronet’s triumph yesterday in the Zetland Stakes at Newmarket. Both unbeaten fillies are leading candidates for next season’s Oaks.
