Consistent Dubawi colt Move Up, winner of the G2 Bosphorus Cup last time out, maintained a perfect record at Ascot on 1 October battling superbly to take the G3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes.
Smartly away under William Buick, Move Up was settled in second under William Buick and in a thrilling duel with favourite Arab Spring, eventually took the 12-furlong contest by a neck. King’s Fete (by King’s Best) ran on well to finish third. Move Up, who is trained by Saeed bin Suroor, now has five wins and two places from his eight starts.
Move Up was bred by Lavington Stud and is out of the Group-winning Soviet Star mare Rosinka. The mare is herself a half-sister to G1 winner King’s Drama.
Dubawi has sired no fewer than 25 individual Black type winners this year, headed by multiple G1 winner and Arc favourite Postponed. Another of his 2016 G1 winners, Left Hand, also lines up in tomorrow’s feature race at Chantilly.
