A week after landing a European Stakes treble, Shamardal was responsible for another Stakes winner on Sunday 8 May when his son Wildpark landed the Listed Frühjahrs Meile. Run over a mile at Cologne, he was doubling his number of Stakes victories after being successful in the Listed Hoppegartner Sommerpreis in August last year.
Owned and bred by Gestut Brummerhof, Wildpark is the first foal of the G3-placed juvenile Wildfahrte (Mark Of Esteem) who hails from the top family of German Derby winner Waldpark (Dubawi) and New Approach’s Stakes winner Waldnah.
Shamardal’s seven Stakes winners this year include last weeks G1 Prix Ganay hero Dariyan, Dubai top-flight scorer Tryster and the hugely impressive G2 Dahlia Stakes winner Usherette.
