Fintry back to form in France
Shamardal’s four-year-old daughter Fintry landed her third career Group success on Sunday June 14 when taking the G3 Prix Bertrand du Breuil at Chantilly. Sent to the front straight out of the stalls in the mile contest, she never saw another rival, holding off the late challenge of multiple Classic-winner Avenir Certain. She now has won five of her eight career starts, with three of her Stakes wins now coming over today’s course and distance.
Bred by Darley and racing in the Godolphin blue silks, Fintry is a half-sister to two further Group performers in Lochinver and Cross Fell and a daughter of the G3-winning mare Campsie Fells (Indian Ridge).
Fintry becomes Shamardal’s 16th Stakes winner of 2015 with his star son, the World’s best turf horse Able Friend, lining up at Royal Ascot on Tuesday in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes.
