Settled off the pace for much of the 12-furlong contest, the five-year-old entire looked to have plenty to do as the field quickened for home but finding a final surge of speed close to home, swept past his rivals and finished just ahead of Teofilo's Ponfeigh to retain his unbeaten record in Qatar. Dubawi, undoubtedly one of the world’s leading sires, has already sired six Black type winners this year including Meydan G2 winner Safety Check. Last year he sired no fewer than five G1 winners and a further 14 Group winners.
