New Stakes winner for Shamardal
Bow Creek, a three-year-old son of Shamardal, won his first Stakes race on Saturday April 5 when making all the running in the Listed International Trial Stakes over a mile at Lingfield Park. A progressive multiple-winning juvenile in 2013, this was his second start of the year after an unlucky in running effort in the Spring Cup over today's course last month.
Bred by Roundhill Stud and sold as a yearling for 130,000Gns, Bow Creek is a half-brother to Group colt Dare To Dream and out of the G3-winning mare Beneventa (Most Welcome).
Shamardal has now sired seven Stakes winners in 2014 including G2-winning Australian juvenile Ghibellines, Meydan G2 winner Excellent Result and multiple Classic heroine Ihtimal. Other leading performers so far this year include Able Friend, a local G1 winner in Hong Kong and Mukhadram, a gallant second in the world's richest race, the Dubai World Cup. Shamardal stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €50,000 alongside his G1-winning juvenile son Casamento (€5,000).
