Darley-sired one-two in Marseille
Le Ring, a three-year-old son of Slickly, won his second successive Stakes race on Sunday 10 November when defeating the previously unbeaten Leofilo (Teofilo) by a length in the Listed Grand Prix de Marseille. Making his first start since May, this was his sixth win from only 12 starts.
Owned and bred by Jean-Claude Seroul, Le Ring is out of the Stakes-winning mare Joha, and is a full-brother to the twice Stakes-placed Mariage Tardif and five-time winner Huapi. Joha also has a full-brother foal to Le Ring.
Slickly, who will stand in 2014 at a fee of €7,000, has been the leading French stallion by European earnings since 2009. This includes the high-earning four-time G1 winner Meandre, who won the Preis von Europa earlier this season at Cologne.
