So Wotif becomes 11th Stakes winner for sire
Starting the race day favourite after some recent good form, three-year-old Iffraaj gelding So Wotif became the 11th career Stakes winner for his sire and third in New Zealand with victory in the G3 Mr Tiz Trophy over 6f.
Settling just behind the leaders, the Opie Bosson-ridden gelding needed a gap as the field rounded the home turn, and when it came, he burst through to record victory.
Offered for sale by Maara Grange at the 2011 New Zealand Bloodstock Select Sale, So Wotif is out of the Geiger Counter mare Electricty, a half-sister to the G1 winner Mr Bureaucrat, G3-winning, G1 placed All Black Gold as well as a the dam of Listed winner My Destiny.
The sire of 11 stakes winners internationally highlighted by G1 winner Wootton Bassett, Iffraaj is standing the current breeding season at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €10,000, October 1st Special live foal.
