Puissance De Lune dominates in the Bendigo Cup
Set for this specific race for six months, Shamardal five-year-old Puissance De Lune started his career in France, before transferring to Australia where he has won four of his seven starts, including the Listed Bendigo Cup on 31 October.
Taking the race by eight lengths eased down, Puissance De Lune’s stunning performance also saw the course record bettered. Connections indicated that his next possible start could be over 13f on the last day of Flemington’s Spring carnival in the G3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Bred by Round Hill Stud, Puissance De Lune is out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Princess Serena, a half-sister to the G2-winning, multiple G1 placed Doubles Partner and the Listed winner Stormy Venus, the dam of G2 winner Don Americo and from the family of Champion USA filly Serena’s Song.
Shamardal is the sire of 43 international Stakes winners highlighted by eight G1 winners including Lope De Vega, Zazou, Faint Perfume and Darley’s new stallion recruit Casamento, who will stand alongside his sire during forthcoming breeding season at Kildangan Stud.
