Valuable Stakes success for Blhadawa
Blhadawa (Iffraaj) gained a very valuable Stakes success at her first time of asking on Saturday May 23 when landing the Listed Cecil Frail Stakes at Haydock Park. A lightly-raced four-year-old having missed the whole of last season, she has progressed well in 2015, wining three of her five starts. Another filly to take a step forward was Interception (Raven's Pass) who was beaten three-quarters-of-a-length into second, with a yawning two-and-three-quarter lengths back to the third.
Bred by Diomed Bloodstock Ltd and bought as a yearling for 37,000Gns, Blhadawa is a half-sister to seven further winners including the Stakes performers Rising Talent and Laurentina. Her dam, the unraced Soviet Star mare Trois Heures Apres, is a half-sister to the Oaks filly Mezzogiorno.
Iffraaj has now sired 30 individual Stakes winners including the G1-winning juveniles Wootton Bassett, Rizeena and Chriselliam. He is standing this season at a fee of £22,500.
