First-season sire Earthlight sired his third winner when his juvenile daughter Xanthe produced a brave performance to break her maiden on debut at Ascot on Saturday, 11 May.
Trained by Richard Hannon, Xanthe raced prominently throughout the five-furlong contest, she challenged the leader with just over a furlong to run and fought out the finish in a head-to-head tussle with Reposado to prevail by a head.
