Super Saturday for Dubawi as Yaroogh becomes his third Stakes winner of the day

Juvenile colt comfortably lands Listed Prix Saraca

It was a ‘Super Saturday’ for Dubawi as his juvenile son, Yaroogh, became his third Black Type winner of the day on Saturday, 12 October, when he was a comfortable winner of the Listed Prix Saraca at Chantilly, France. Earlier at Newmarket’s Future Champion’s Festival his sons, Lead Artist and Delacroix, prevailed in the G3 Darley Stakes and G3 Autumn Stakes, respectively.

The charge of William Haggas, Yaroogh travelled steadily in third before making good progress with less that 600m to run. Quickening up readily in the heavy going he soon took up the lead entering the final 200m and extended clear of the field to post a three and a half length win in the 1400m contest. This was the colt’s fourth win from six starts.

Bred by Godolphin and raced by Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum, Yaroogh is the first foal out of the winning mare, Lawahed (Invincible Spirit). She is out of G1 victrix, Sajjhaa, who is also the dam of Quddwah, winner of the G2 Summer Stakes.

Dubawi is having another brilliant year, siring 30 individual Black Type winners, so far. They are headed by his four Group 1 scorers – Notable Speech (2,000 Guineas and Sussex Stakes), Ezeliya (Epsom Oaks), Rebel’s Romance (G1 Preis von Europa, G1 Champions & Chater Cup and G1 Dubai Sheema Classic) and Master of the Seas (G1 Maker’s Mark Mile Stakes).
