Shamardal sired his seventh individual Stakes winner of May alone when his four-year-old daughter Speedy Boarding landed the G2 Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud. Always travelling sweetly in the 2100m contest, she took up the running about two furlongs from home and ran out an authoritative winner.
It was the second Stakes winner on the day for Shamardal after Anamba’s victory in Ireland, and followed on from his Group winners earlier in the month Dariyan, Usherette and Royal Solitaire.
Bred by Meon Valley Stud, Speedy Boarding is a daughter of the Stakes-winning Diktat mare Dash To The Front, a granddaughter of the G1-winning miler Miligram. Dash To The Front also has a three-year-colt colt by Dubawi called Next Stage, that was sold as a yearling for 800,000Gns and won his only start last season for Saeed bin Suroor at Lingfield last season.
Amongst Shamardal’s 17 top-flight scorers are a pair that won in 2016, Tryster and Dariyan. He is one of only two stallions to have earned more than £1 million in prize-money in Europe this season.
