Son of Poet’s Voice wins by nine lengths to become his sire’s third winner
First-season sire Poet's Voice added another winner to his record in sensational style on 3 June when his son Ode To Evening won the six-furlong maiden at Ripon by no fewer than nine lengths.
Sent off as favourite, the Mark Johnston-trained colt was always prominent under Joe Fanning and once asked to quicken, easily moved clear of his rivals and ran on superbly to record his wide-margin victory.
A Darley homebred, he becomes the second winner out of the Champion two and three-year-old and multiple G1 winner Ever Love. The mare has a 2014 yearling colt by Poet’s Voice’s own sire, world-leader Dubawi.
Poet’s Voice, who recorded his first winner with his first ever runner this April, won the G2 Champagne Stakes at two and subsequently won the G1 QEII Stakes and the G2 Celebration Mile (taking the latter by four and a half lengths).
He stands at Dalham Hall Stud alongside his sire at a fee of £12,000 October 1st SLF.
