Dubawi's son Siskany is now two for two in 2024 following a workmanlike victory in the G3 Nad Al Sheba on Friday, 23 February, his second consecutive win in the 14-furlong turf event at Meydan. Last month he was victorious in the Listed Al Khail Trophy.
Siskany, racing in the Godolphin blue silks, broke well under the guidance of jockey William Buick and settled into the third spot for most of the one mile and three quarters race. It wasn't until he reached mid-stretch that he found a clear path and then found the finish line travelling well under strong urging from Buick.
Siskany was bred in England by Godolphin and is out of the unraced Dansili mare Halay, a half-sister to dual G2-winners Dartmouth and Manatee. Halay is also a half-sister to Stakes winner Gaterie (Dubai Destination), dam of multiple Stakes winner Warren Point (Dubawi), also a winner at Meydan this year of the G3 Dubai Millennium Stakes earlier this month.
Dubawi is once again off to a tremendous start in 2024 having already sired three other Group winners in addition to Siskany - Rebel's Romance, Fancensco Clemente and the aforementioned Warrent Point. No other European stallion has sired more than two Group winners this year. Dubawi has sired an astonishing 177 Group winners around the world.
