Shamardal’s four-year-old daughter Aljazzi started her 2017 season in perfect style on Saturday 15 April when winning the Listed Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes.
Run over a mile on Kempton’s all-weather track, she was produced in the straight by Ryan Moore to win well by one and a half lengths. This was her second Stakes success after her triumph last season at Haydock in the the Dick Hern Fillies’ Stakes.
Owned and bred by Saleh Al Homaizi & Imad Al Sagar, she is the first foal of the multiple Stakes-winning mare Nouriya (Danehill Dancer), who hails from the extended family of top miler Zafeen.
Shamardal has sired 15 Stakes performers already in 2017, including last weekend’s G3 Prix la Force winner Graphite, who broke Chantilly’s 1800m track record in his build up to a Classic campaign.
