First-season sire Belardo sired his second Group winner in three days after his daughter Elysium landed the G3 Park Stakes. Run over seven furlongs at the Curragh, Elysium was held up near the rear early before cruising into contention. Switching to the outside, she quickened well to record a one-and-a-half length triumph.
Elysium is the second Group winner for Belardo after the impressive Isabella Giles, who won the G3 Prestige Stakes by seven lengths before taking the G2 Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.
Bred by Tullpark Ltd, Elysium is out of the Stakes-performing juvenile Sonning Rose, who was placed at Royal Ascot in the Chesham Stakes.
Champion juvenile Belardo has now sired four Stakes performers, all of whom have either won or placed since 19 September. After Group winners Isabella Giles and Elysium, completing the quintet are G3 First Of Clyde Stakes third Lullaby Moon and Fairyhouse Listed third Bell I Am.
