Three-year-old Shamardal filly Tarnawa has made the frame in all bar one of her racecourse appearances and on Saturday, 17 August she added a second Group victory to her record when running out the easy winner of the G3 Give Thanks Stakes at Cork.
Racing off the pace during the early stages of the 12-furlong contest, the Dermot Weld-trained was still cruising approaching the two-furlong marker but once asked for her effort, soon took up the running and eased clear to win by two and a half lengths.
Owned and bred by His Highness The Aga Khan, Hazapour is one of four winners out of the Stakes-winning Daylami mare Hazarafa. She is a half-sister to G1 Epsom Derby winner Harzand.
Shamardal is enjoying a tremendous year, siring 10 individual Group winners including outstanding multiple G1 winner and new Darley stallion Blue Point, plus French Guineas heroine Castle Lady.
