Nirliit, a three-year-old son of Iffraaj, got up to claim the Listed Prix Aymeri de Mauleon over a mile at Toulouse on Sunday, 24 April. Placed twice in Stakes company previously, the French-bred colt edged out early leader Zawaaya to win by a head.
Nirliit is owned and bred by Ecurie La Valle Martigny, and is a half-brother to dual Listed-placed Almeida Girl. They are out of the Stakes-performing Rock Of Gibraltar mare Llantia, a half-sister to Stakes winner Childa, dam of Iffraaj’s G3 Prix La Force victor Chilean.
Darley stalwart Iffraaj is the sire of 71 Stakes winners with 8 Stakes performers so far this season. They include last week’s G3 Victoria Handicap victor Ayrton and G2 UAE Derby third Island Falcon, who holds the distinction of being his sire’s 250th European-bred two-year-old winner.
Iffraaj stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £17,500 Oct 1st, SLF.
