Night Of Thunder sired a new G1 winner on Sunday, 7 August when his five-year-old daughter, Highfield Princess strode to victory in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville, France.
The improving mare who is trained by John Quinn was prominent throughout the race under Jason Hart and proved too good for her rivals to score by three-quarters of a length in the 1300m contest, earning the biggest win of her career.
Highfield Princess took her tally of wins to ten, three of which are at Black-type level, including a G2 win at York earlier in the year where she could return later this month to take her place in the G1 Nunthorpe Stakes.
Bred by Trainers House Enterprises Ltd, Highfield Princess is out of the winning-mare Pure Illusion (Danehill), making her a half-sister to Lohnro’s G2 July Stakes winner and G1 Middle Park Stakes third Cardsharp.
Night Of Thunder is enjoying a successful season, which so far includes siring the undefeated G2 Superlative Stakes winner Isaac Shelby and G3-scorer, Lola Showgirl. He is also the sire of three-time Stakes winner Rumbles Of Thunder.
