Belardo and Territories have both enjoyed tremendous success with their first runners this year, with no fewer than 11 Black Type performers between them to date. On Wednesday, 4 November both added new winners to their records with success for Farasi Lane (Belardo) and Star Jewel (Territories) at Kempton.
Farasi Lane made all to win the seven-furlong Nursery under Silvestre de Sousa, easing clear inside the final furlong to win by two and a quarter lengths.
He was bred by Wicklow Bloodstock and is out of the Oasis Dream mare No Such Zone, also dam of Teofilo’s multiple winner Stone Flow. She is herself a full sister to G2 performer Address Unknown and a half-sister to Stakes winner and Group performer To Sender.
Belardo already has three Group winners to his name in Isabella Giles (G2 Rockfel Stakes and G3 Prestige Stakes), Lullaby Moon (G3 Prix Miesque and Listed 2YO Trophy) and Elysium (G3 Park Stakes).
Earlier on the same card, Territories’ daughter Star Jewel put up a very impressive performance on her racecourse debut to win the seven-furlong Novice. The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained filly, who was also ridden by Silvestre de Sousa, took up the running after a furlong and moved clear with three furlongs left to run, staying on well to win by two lengths.
Star Jewel was bred by Bearstone Stud and is out of the winning Dubawi mare Dubai Affair, a half-sister to juvenile Stakes winner Queen’s Grace and from the family of Sakhee’s Secret.
Territories is also sire of G1 Prix Marcel Boussac third Rougir, winner of the G3 Prix des Reservoirs last time out, plus recent Listed winner Fulgentia and a further five Black Type performers.
