First-season sire Slade Power recorded a new winner on Thursday, 31 May when his son Oh My Oh My won on his racecourse debut at Lyon-Parilly in France.
Settled in second position under jockey Antoine Hamelin, Oh My Oh My was asked to quicken once inside the final furlong and just got up to win from the fast-finishing Cala Tarida.
Oh My Oh My was bred in Ireland by Slade Power’s former trainer Eddie Lynam and Castletown Bloodstock and is out of the multiple winner Sylvan Mist, herself a half-sister to Black Type winner Vianello.
Slade Power, also sire of Newmarket winner Strings Of Life, was a superb sprinter who landed both the G1 Diamond Jubilee and G1 Darley July Cup during a stellar season in 2014.
Slade Power stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €15,000, Oct 1, SLF.
