Shamardal sired a new Stakes winner on Sunday 27 March when his four-year-old daughter Royal Solitaire gained a valuable Black-type victory in the Listed Preis des Gestüts Röttgen. Run over a mile ay Hoppegarten, she has now won half of her 10 starts with her gutsy display on her seasonal debut.
Bred by Janus Bloodstock and Stilvi Compania Financieria, she is a daughter of the Stakes winner Reverie Solitaire (Nashwan) who herself is a half-sister to Group winning filly Queen's Best (King's Best) and last seasons River Eden Stakes winner Urban Castle (Street Cry).
Shamardal has already sired four Stakes winners in 2016 including top-flight Dubai scorer Tryster and the Irish-bred Australian G2-winner Bow Creek. He stands at Kildangan Stud alongside his multiple Group-winning son French Navy, with his Racing Post Trophy hero Casamento, whose first runners will shortly be hitting the track, standing in England at Dalham Hall Stud.
