My Prospero was a new Group winner for his sire, Iffraaj, when he made all to claim the G2 Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud, France on Saturday, 16 July.
The William Haggas-trained three-year-old colt led throughout the 2000m contest, he was challenged with a furlong to run but proved too good for his rivals and held on by half-a-length from Zagrey to earn his first Group race.
Owned and bred by Sunderland Holding Inc, My Prospero has now won three of his four starts this year, including the Listed Heron Stakes, which was then followed up by a creditable third when he stepped up into G1 company in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.
My Prospero is the third foal out of the G3 winning mare, My Titania (Sea The Stars), herself a half-sister to G2-winner Muthmir, she has also produced G3-winner, My Oberon (Dubawi) and Stakes-winning filly, My Astra (Lope De Vega).
Iffraaj has sired 11 G1 winners including French Champion two-year-old Wootton Bassett and European Champion Miler Ribchester. He is also the sire two Champion juveniles.
