Dubawi’s excellent start to 2023 continued when his son Valiant Prince graduated to become a Group winner in the G2 Al Rashidiya Stakes. Run over 1800m at Meydan, the Charlie Appleby-trained gelding ran on well to lead near the line to defeat his paternal half-brother Dubai Future.
Valiant Prince is very progressive and has now won five of his last six starts including the Listed Ganton Stakes when last seen at York in June of last year.
Bred by R. A. H. Evans, he is a son of the Champion older mare Chachamaidee, the winner of the G1 Matron Stakes. Chachamaidee hails from the extended family of Dubawi’s three-time G1 winner Space Blues, who is just about to embark on his second season at Kildangan Stud in Ireland.
Valiant Prince was Dubawi’s third Stakes winner of the 2023 Dubai Carnival after G2 Al Fahidi Fort winner Al Suhail and the Dubai Dash hero Lazuli.
