Leading sire Dubawi added a new Group winner – and his 28th of the year – to his record on Friday, 18 November when his son Dubai Future took the valuable G3 Bahrain International Trophy.
Saeed bin Suroor’s charge was settled in third early on in the 10-furlong contest, before laying down his challenge inside the final furlong. Dubai Future battled superbly in the closing stages to beat Godolphin stable mate Passion and Glory (who is by late Darley stallion Cape Cross) by three quarters of a length.
Dubai Future now has four Stakes wins to his name, including this year’s Wolferton Handicap at Royal Ascot, which he won by three lengths.
Dubai Future is out of the Group-winning Street Cry mare Anjaz, herself a daughter of Champion Juvenile and G1 Fillies’ Mile winner Playful Act. She is a half-sister to another Group winner by Dubawi in Ispolini.
Dubai Future is one of a personal best 34 Stakes winners for Dubawi in 2022, who is also sire this year of Classic winners Coroebus, Eldar Eldarov and Modern Games, plus G1 Platinum Jubilee Stakes winner and the newest addition to the Darley roster, Naval Crown.
