Son’s of Blue Point scored a double at Al Rayyan, Qatar on Saturday, 11 November. Following on from Mr Saturday’s easy win in an earlier race, Moyet became his sire’s 44th individual winner when he made all to score by two and a half lengths in the 1400m contest.
Travelling strongly throughout the race, Moyet who was having his first run for his new trainer, M.H.K Al Attiyah, was briefly challenged in the final furlong but was not to be denied as he stretched clear to a comfortable victory.
Moyet was bred by The Rare Partnership, he is out of the Galileo mare, Rare, who is a half-sister to Blue Bunting, a Champion three-year-old filly.
Leading first season sire, Blue Point, is also the sire of 10 Stakes-performers. They are headed by his G1-winning sons Big Evs (Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint) and Rosallion (Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere). Blue Point stands at Kildangan Stud for a fee of €60,000 next year.
