Shamardal’s G2-placed daughter Vezalay was rewarded for her consistency with her maiden Stakes success in the Listed Alinghi Stakes at Caulfield, October 17.
Jumping straight to the lead, Vezalay never relinquished her advantage, fighting off a host of challengers over the concluding stages to record a narrow but impressive win.
Bred by Geoff Walsh and partners, Vezalay is the first Stakes winner for G3-placed Flying Spur mare Tactfully, a full-sister to Stakes winner Roulettes and half-sister to G3 winner Royal Discretion.
Shamardal is the sire of 29 Stakes winners this year including G1 winners Able Friend, Lumiere and Dan Excel.
