Kisses In Easter Cup
After a stint in Australian with various trainers, four-year-old Iffraaj mare Kisses returned to her native New Zealand with instant success, winning her two most recent starts highlighted by victory in the Listed Easter Cup at Riccarton Park on April 5.
A winner earlier in her career of the Listed New Zealand Bloodstock Airfreight Stakes, the mare was away a little awkwardly from the barriers but settled well enough in a mid-field position. As they headed for home Kisses needed a gap, and it eventually came with the mare sprinting to reel in the leader Rohaise to score by a half-head margin.
Bred and raced by Chequers Stud, the filly is out of the Marscay mare La Marmalade, the dam of Singapore Listed winner Tres Sheik as well as the Listed placed Master Regent.
Standing at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €25,000 October 1st SLF, Iffraaj is the sire of 18 Stakes winners including eight G1 performers highlighted by the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Rizeena and Chriselliam, a winner of the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
