Shamardal two-year-old Amaron added yet more lustre to his already impressive record with victory in the G3 Zukunfts-Rennen at Baden-Baden over 1400m on Tuesday.
Giving 2kgs to his rivals, he ran home to score by a length from Pakal, with Cape Cross filly Sun Of Jamaica another length back in third.
Bred in Britain by Genesis Green Stud, Amaron is out of the Bertolini mare Amandalini. He won the Listed Oppenheim-Rennen on debut and now a tilt at the G3 Preis Von Winterfavoriten could be next on the cards. However, his trainer Andreas Lowe has not ruled out a trip to Longchamp on Arc day for the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère.
Amaron’s victory caps a good week at Baden-Baden for the offspring of Shamardal, with four-year-old Zazou landing the G3 Spreti-Rennen on Saturday and Clairvoyance taking third in the G2 Goldene Peitsche the following day.
