Night Of Thunder’s excellent week continued on Sunday, 19 May when his juvenile daughter Fairy Godmother broke her maiden in G3 Naas Fillies Sprint. After a promising debut second at the same track, she was held up early, and despite not getting a clear passage, quickened impressively to get up near the line by a neck.
She looks to have booked her ticket to Royal Ascot, and this race is a historically a good guide with the last two winners going on to G3 Albany glory, including her stablemate Mediate in 2022.
Bred by Ballyphilip Stud, Fairy Godmother is the second foal of juvenile winner Scintilating, whose first was Stakes-placed two-year-old Sketch.
It has been an excellent seven days for Night Of Thunder after impressive G2 Dante Stakes winner Economics, the third and fourth in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches through Vespertilio and Romantic Style, plus the exciting debutant juvenile scorer Sounds Like A Plan at Navan.
