Group success for daughter of Dubawi

Mosaique holds on gamely to land G3 Prix Lady O’Reilly

Dubawi’s consistent three-year-old daughter, Mosaique, continued her progression through the ranks as she held on gamely to land her first Group win in the G3 Prix Lady O’Reilly at Deauville, France on Sunday, 11 August.

Trained by Carlos Laffon-Parias, Mosaique travelled comfortably on the rail just behind the leaders for most of the 2500m race, as they approached the 400m marker she was switched out to make her run and soon took up the lead. Challenged in the closing stages the filly bravely held on to record a three-quarter length success.

This was a second Black Type win for the filly who won the Listed Prix de Thiberville at ParisLongchamp in June before finishing runner-up in the G2 Prix de Malleret the following month.

Owned and bred by Wertheimer Et Frere, Mosaique is out of the G2-winning mare, The Juliet Rose (Monsun), herself a half-sister to G3-scorer, Arabian Crown and Listed-winner, Everest Rose. She also has a yearling colt by Dubawi.

So far this year Dubawi has sired 21 Black Type winners. Four have won at the highest level, including dual G1-winner Notable Speech (2,000 Guineas and Sussex Stakes), Ezeliya (Epsom Oaks), Rebel’s Romance (Dubai Sheema Classic and Champions & Chater Cup in Sha Tin) and Master Of The Seas (Maker’s Mark Mile).
