Group double for Teofilo
Teofilo completed a Group double in the space of 20 minutes on Sunday September 15 when his daughter Samba Brazil followed the Classic triumph of Voleuse de Coeurs when winning the G3 Grosse Europa Meile at Munich, with Shamardal's Classic-winning daughter Akua'da in second. A Stakes-winning three-year-old in this month last season, she has been campaigned exclusively in Group company ever since in her native Germany, France and in Italy.
Owned and bred by Gestut Karlshof, Samba Brazil is a half-sister to G1-winner Seismos, out of the winning Dashing Blade mare Sasuela, who herself is a half-sister to three German Classic winners; Schiaparelli, Samum and Salve Regina (who are all by Monsun).
With today's Group double, Teofilo has now sired ten individual Group winners, with five coming at the highest level. From his first crop he has Parish Hall and today's Classic heroine Voleuse de Coeurs, with Trading Leather (Irish Derby), Havana Gold (Prix Jean Prat) and G1-winning juvenile Loch Garmon coming from his second.
