Kitty Marion, a daughter of Iffraaj, added a first Stakes victory on Saturday, 4 September in the G3 Goldene Peitsche over six furlongs at Baden-Baden.
Placed in Listed company earlier this season, the British-bred mare saw off a challenge from the Andreas Wohler-trained Majestic Colt, staying on strongly to win by a neck.
Trained in Spain, Kitty Marion was bred by Glebe Stud, J F Dean and Lady Trenchard and is the best performer from the winning Kyllachy mare Pretty Primo. She is a half-sister to Iffraaj’s G1-winning Champion two-year-old Wootton Bassett and out of the Stakes-placed Balladonia. This is the extended family of the G1-winning siblings Silver Patriarch and Papineau.
Iffraaj is the sire of 81 Black Type winners with 10 coming at the highest-level including Champion miler Ribchester. His 11 Stakes winners this season are led by G2 Western Australian Derby winner Western Empire, G2 Al Fahidi Fort Stakes winner Land Of Legends and G3 Prix Djebel victor Fast Raaj.
