Following Listed glory at Beverley in August, Judicial, a seven-year-old son of Iffraaj, added a second Stakes win this season when taking the Listed Golden Rose Stakes at Lingfield Park on Saturday, 16 October.
A G3 winner last year, Judicial was held up in the early stages, drawing wide on the home bend. Asked for improvement, he duly obliged, sweeping past the field in the final furlong to comfortably win by a length and three quarters.
Owned and bred by Elite Racing Club, Judicial is a half-brother to the dual G1 winning sprinter Marsha out of the Listed winning Marju mare Marlinka. She is out of a half-sister to the European Champion filly Soviet Song and the dam of Manduro’s G1 Prix Jean Romanet winner Ribbons.
Iffraaj is the sire of nine individual G1 winners including European Champion Miler Ribchester and Royal Ascot winner Rizeena. Judicial is one of 22 Black Type performers this season for Iffraaj, also sire of G2 May Hill winner and G1 Fillies’ Mile second Powerful Breeze.
Iffraaj stands at Dalham Hall Stud for £30,000, 1 Oct, SLF.
