Brilliant sprinter Highfield Princess recorded her fourth top-flight victory when landing the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp on Sunday, 1 October. The daughter of Night Of Thunder didn’t travel with her normal fluency but showed tremendous tenacity to get on top near the line, despite her bad draw.
Incredible performance! Highfield Princess is flat out most of the way but defies a nightmare draw to win the Group 1 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp Longines for @jasonhart13 and John Quinn 🙌 pic.twitter.com/UWgZOCdgKL

Starting from humble origins she progressed through the handicap ranks to record a quick fire hat-trick in G1’s last summer when taking the Prix Maurice de Gheest, Nunthorpe and Flying Five at the Curragh.
Owned and bred by Trainers House Enterprises, Highfield Princess is a daughter of the Danehill mare Pure Illusion, who has also produced a G2-winning juvenile in Cardsharp (Lonhro).
Highfield Princess is the star of Night Of Thunder’s brilliant first crop that contains 23% Stakes winners to runners, higher than both his sire Dubawi and broodmare sire Galileo did with theirs. It has been another exceptional 2023 for him, siring 11 Black Type winners including juveniles Vespertilio, winner of the G2 Debutante Stakes, and Al Musmak, winner of the Listed Ascendant Stakes before a second in the G2 Royal Lodge yesterday at Newmarket.
